Two from Utica face conspiracy and drug charges

Two suspects from Utica were arrested in the city of Oneonta after a two-week narcotics investigation, Otsego County deputies said in a media release issued Tuesday.

Peter M. Bowman Jr., 21, and Ksha Faison, 23, were charged Friday with fourth-degree conspiracy, a felony, and unlawful possession of marijuana, deputies said.

Faison and Bowman are accused of conspiring with a third party to transport, possess and sell heroin in the city, the release said.

The investigation was conducted by the Otsego County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Oneonta Police Department Detective Bureau.

Oneonta City Court Judge Lucy Bernier signed a no-knock search warrant for 6 N. Seventh St. in the city, the release said. On Friday morning, the sheriff's Special Enforcement Bureau executed the warrant at the residence and seized $1,733 in cash and about a half-ounce of marijuana.

The defendants were arraigned before Bernier and sent to Otsego County jail on $10,000 bail.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Michael Getman is prosecuting the case.

Bowman is to appear in Oneonta City Court on Monday, and Faison is to appear Tuesday. If convicted in this case, each defendant faces up to four years in prison, deputies said.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office and the Utica Parole Office assisted in the execution of the search warrant.
