Norwich man faces sexual abuse charge

A Norwich resident was charged with a felony sex crime, Chenango County deputies said.

Eric S. Fowlston, 23, was charged Thursday with first-degree criminal sexual act and first-degree sexual abuse, both felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child, deputies said in a media release.

He is accused of subjecting a child younger than 11 to sexual contact, deputies said, and he was sent to Chenango County jail on $5,000 bail.

Suspect in vandalism arrested

A Holtsville man was arrested last month in connection with incidents dating back to November 2007.

Edward J. Sambriski, 42, was charged Jan. 28 with six counts of petit larceny, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree arson and fourth-degree criminal mischief, according to a media release issued Jan. 30 by the Cobleskill Police Department.

Police received reports in November 2007 of thefts and vandalism at two motels, the release said. Several vehicles had been damaged, including one that was set on fire, and a motel room was burglarized. Arrest warrants were issued for Sambriski, who had been identified as a suspect, in February 2008, the release said.

On Jan. 28, Sambriski was located in Suffolk County and apprehended by the New York Police Department Regional Fugitive Task Force. Cobleskill police responded and arrested Sambriski.

DWI, robbery among court hearings

Cases heard in Delaware County Court on Jan. 30 before Judge Carl Becker include:

"¢ Victor Rosa, 20, Bronx, was sentenced to one year in jail, following a Nov. 14 guilty plea on a charged of second-degree robbery. An order of protection was issued for the victim and Rosa was ordered to pay restitution of $3,181.50.

"¢ Eddie L. Wadley, no age or address given, was arraigned for driving while intoxicated, and multiple traffic offenses. Bail was set at $5,000, with the next court date in July.
