Staff Report
A couple who allegedly ransacked a Morris house from which they were evicted last week face felony charges.
Justin A. Irwin, 32, and Tina M. Frank, 24, of Keansburg, N.J., were arrested Saturday at the Oneonta state police station.
Troopers said Irwin and Frank caused an estimated $7,000 worth of damage to a rental home on county Route 51. Irwin and Frank, who admitted they caused the damage during interviews with investigators, did so in retaliation for their eviction, troopers said. Damages included broken windows and faucets, garbage and feces strewn on floors and holes in walls, troopers said.
The property owner reported the damage Friday. Irwin and Frank were evicted Thursday by order of Morris Town Court.
Irwin was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, arraigned in Morris Town Court and released on recognizance to appear at a later date.
Frank was issued an appearance ticket on a third-degree criminal mischief charge returnable in Morris Town Court at a later date, troopers said.
