The Oneonta Outlaws will take over Damaschke Field this summer.
Team co-owner Keith Rogers and Oneonta Mayor Dick Miller announced the new name for the New York Collegiate Baseball League team at a briefing for the community and media at Stella Luna Resturant on Oneonta on Tuesday afternoon.
Co-owner Dan Scaring said he came up with the name Outlaws after trying to come up with something to tie the history of railroads in Oneonta, but also have something that had marketability.
The black-and-orange logo shows a masked outlaw in an "O" that is leaning to the right. In the word version, it shows Outlaws in block lettering with a small locomotive train in between the "L" and the "A." Scaring said the team is still trying to tweak the logo a little.
