SPRINGFIELD CENTER _ The state Office of
Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation’s Central
Region office will host a public meeting in January
to discuss proposed improvements to the Hyde
Hall historic site at Glimmerglass State Park in Cooperstown.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Springfield
Community Center at 137 County Route 29A
in Springfield Center. Representatives of Barton &
Loguidice, an Albany-based landscape architecture
and engineering firm, will be present, along with
state parks staff.
The proposed project would restore bridge access
from the Tin Top gatehouse to the Hyde Hall mansion,
upgrade the Tin Top parking area and install
a storm-water culvert below the park road. It would
also include utility and repair work to the Tin Top
building.
The meeting is open to the public. A brief presentation
will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
