The State University of
New York will hold an
open forum Jan. 11 at the
State University College
of Technology at Delhi.
The forum, which will run
from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in
the Resnick Library Cafe,
is part of the SUNY-wide
strategic planning process,
presenters said.
According to a media release,
the purpose of the
SUNY Strategic Planning
Open Forum is to receive
testimony and statements
from individuals concerning
the strategic planning
process.
The open forum at
SUNY Delhi will focus on
“Diversity in the World.”
The forum will also address
the university’s direction
and role within
the SUNY system.
Chancellor Nancy Zimpher
initiated the statewide
collaborative planning
process in June. The
four phases identified
on the SUNY website
include a campus tour,
SUNY Delhi to host forum on plan, role
which was completed in
spring; a series of statewide
“conversations,” of
which the event in Delhi
is one; the launch of the
strategic plan, expected
to begin in February; and
an implementation phase
that will continue through
December 2010.
The Delhi session is the
fourth of seven conversations
planned, with others
scheduled at Stony Brook
University, SUNY Plattsburgh
and the Upstate
Medical University. More

The forum is open
to the public, but those
who wish to speak at
length are asked to e-mail

by noon Jan. 6. Organizers
request a written copy of
any oral testimony, as well
as contact information for
the speaker, including
an e-mail address, phone
number and mailing address.
Testimony will be
limited to three minutes.
Those who wish to
make brief, extemporaneous
comments may sign
in at the forum. Speakers
will be called on in the order
in which they register.
The forum registration officer
will take the names of
those who wish to speak.
