Firefighters from across Otsego and Chenango counties are fighting a blaze at the Curtis Lumber store in New Berlin.
A store clerk said the blaze erupted at about 3 p.m. in Building 6, which is a barn used for the storage of insulation, steel panels, vinyl siding, garage doors, shingles, specialty cedar and other materials.
The building was described by fire officials as a 60-foot-by-200-foot pole barn. As of about 4 p.m. Tuesday, the building was said to be engulfed.
