Moon halo seen Sunday night

ONEONTA _ A large moon halo was seen over the area Sunday night. The phenomenon caught the attention of several people who called The Daily Star.

The halo was created by light from the nearly full moon that was diffracted through tiny ice particles high in the atmosphere.

Although the sky was clear for the early portion of the evening during which the halo was visible, clouds later rolled in and obscured it.

ONEONTA _ The Economics and Business Division Faculty Seminar Series at the State University College at Oneonta will continue with a presentation by Dr. Jaekyung Kim titled "Understanding knowledge-seeking behavior in online communities" at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Room 203 of Schumacher Hall. The program is free and open to the public.

Kim, who holds a doctorate in management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, joined the SUNY Oneonta faculty in 2008. He worked previously as a graduate assistant at the University of Nebraska.

More information about the Faculty Seminar Series is available from the SUNY Oneonta division of economics and business at 436-3458.
