ONEONTA _ Otsego County residents are invited to review the county's preliminary flood map at an open house from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Oneonta Middle School. The meeting is being hosted by the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
No public presentation is planned, but flood-plain managers and flood insurance experts will be on hand to answer questions about the map. Inclusion in an official flood plain carries a mandatory requirement for flood insurance if the structure has a federally backed mortgage, or a mortgage with a federally regulated lender.
Maps can be seen online at http://www.rampp-team.com/ny.htm. The maps are listed alphabetically by county.

An East Worcester man was arrested Nov. 19 following a Buckle Up New York road check, Otsego deputies said.

Davidson had a forged windshield registration sticker and was driving with a revoked driver's license, deputies said. He was also issued tickets for having an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, deputies said. He was arraigned in Oneonta Town Court and released pending a December court appearance, deputies said. If convicted on the felony charge, he faces up to seven years in state prison, deputies said.
