The son of a 63-year-old Sharon man found dead last week was charged with murder.
Gerry King, 37, was caught in Connecticut on Tuesday and extradited to New York, state police said in a news release.
He was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of George King, who was found dead in his home Nov. 16, troopers said.
Gerry King of Montgomery County was arraigned in Sharon Town Court and sent to Schoharie County jail without bail.
An autopsy on the elder King showed his death was caused by blunt-force trauma, troopers said.
Gerry King was stopped by a Connecticut state trooper in Norfolk at about 11 a.m. Tuesday after the state police issued an alert for King's vehicle and said he may be traveling to that state.
The investigation is continuing, troopers said.
