'Suspicious' death under investigation

The suspicious death of a 63-year-old Sharon man is under investigation in Schoharie County.

George King was found dead Monday night, according to a media release from state police in Princetown.

King's son, Gerry King, 37, of Sprakers, was being sought for questioning, troopers said in a media release.

The younger King was apprehended in Connecticut on Tuesday, according to the Republican-American newspaper in Waterbury, Conn.

Gerry King was believed to be operating a blue 1995 Plymouth Voyager and was accompanied by his girlfriend, Joleen E. Henderson, also of Sprakers, who has family ties in Connecticut, troopers said.

Troopers have released no further details and only said an autopsy on George King was being performed at Albany Medical Center on Tuesday.

Gerry King was apprehended by a Connecticut state trooper in Norfolk at about 11 a.m., the Republican-American reported.

Man alleged in felonies

EDMESTON _ A 20-year-old Burlington Flats man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stealing a dirt bike from a barn on Dutch Valley Road in August.

Brandon A. Blades was charged by Otsego deputies with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny, which are both felonies.

Blades took a Kawasaki 60cc dirt bike valued at about $1,500, deputies said.

The dirt bike was found at Blades' county Route 16 home Monday.

He was arraigned before Edmeston Town Justice Amanda Conklin and released to reappear in court next month for further proceedings.
