Papers to create A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital as an organization affiliated with Bassett Healthcare may be ready for signatures next month, officials said Wednesday.
Work continues toward an agreement effective at about Jan. 1, spokeswomen for the health care institutions said.
Last month, the boards of Bassett and Fox approved an affiliation, pending agreements and approvals of regulators.
Cancer and cardiac services are expected to be in place at FoxCare Center in the town of Oneonta in January, Bassett spokeswoman Karen Huxtable said, and talks previously resulted in shared services in orthopedics starting in May.
The Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta is part of the affiliation agreement and will continue to be operated by Fox, Huxtable said.
Fox spokeswoman Alisha Barbera said no changes in administration and operation of the 131-bed hospital-based nursing home are expected as a result of the pending affiliation.
