A Milford teen was seriously injured Thursday when he was returning home from a Cooperstown High School sporting event on state Route 28 in the town of Hartwick, Otsego County deputies said.
Michael J. Foy was listed in fair condition at M.I. Bassett Hospital on Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Deputies said the following events took place at about 10:30 p.m.: Foy was distracted while driving, swerved off the road and tried to over correct. The vehicle left the road on the southbound shoulder and struck an earth embankment, and after striking a fence and shrubs, rolled over. He was transported to Bassett for injuries to his left arm, deputies said.
He was wearing a seat belt and no tickets were issued, deputies said.
Foy is a student at Milford Central School.
