A Unadilla man was arrested Friday in connection with burglaries in Oneonta and elsewhere in Otsego County.
Lawrence D. Littlehale, 26, was charged with fourth-degree criminal facilitation and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, misdemeanors, by state police at Sidney, according to a media release issued Friday. He is to appear in Unadilla Town Court on Monday and in Oneonta City Court on Nov. 11, troopers said.
Littlehale also was charged Friday with second-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor, by Oneonta city police, and he was released on recognizance.
Neither troopers nor city police were available Friday night to provide more details on Littlehale's arrest or the burglary investigations.
State police investigators reported that, in August, a series of break-ins to homes and cars in Unadilla and West Oneonta resulted in the thefts of cash from wallets and purses and of video-game consoles, and residents were cautioned to lock their doors and windows.
Troopers said in their release Friday said that Littlehale was arrested in connection with many residential burglaries in Otsego County since August. The investigation, which continues, centered on incidents in Unadilla and extended to the Oneonta and Cooperstown areas, the release said, and more arrests are expected.
Littlehale is accused of helping another person, who wasn't identified in the release, commit burglaries to residences in the village of Unadilla and to an apartment at the Hartwick College campus in Oneonta, troopers said.
Littlehale allegedly had stolen property, troopers said.
