Laurens man, 20, alleged in sex crime
LAURENS _ A 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday for allegedly having sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl.
Aaron Channing Talbot of Laurens was charged with second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Talbot had inappropriate sexual contact with the Laurens girl in late August 2009, deputies said in a media release.
At the time of this arrest, Talbot was being held in the Otsego County jail on $20,000 bail following a Sept. 1 arrest on first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act charges.
The alleged victim in that case is a 12-year-old girl.
Talbot is to reappear in Laurens Town Court on Nov. 12. Bail on the latest charges was set at $1,000.
Man is charged for drugs and larceny
A Queensbury man was arrested Friday following the investigation of a complaint of larceny to a vehicle on Linden Avenue early that morning, Oneonta police said.
James D. Flaxon, 21, was arrested for petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Police were dispatched to the scene at about 2:40 a.m. Friday. Flaxon was found to have entered the car and taken an MP3 player and to be in possession of an unlawful controlled substance, police said.
Flaxon was arraigned in Oneonta City Court and released on appearance tickets to appear at a later date. The larceny does not appear to be related to similar recent crimes in the city, Oneonta police Lt. Dennis Nayor said.
