DWI, larceny cases heard in Otsego

In Otsego County Court on Monday before Judge John Lambert, Ruthann F. Zupo, 29, of Portlandville, pleaded guilty to and was sentenced for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

According to court records, the incident occurred Oct. 14, 2008, in the city of Oneonta.

Zupo was sentenced to time served in jail and five years' probation. She was ordered to pay $7,349 in restitution and $375 in court fees.

Also in court Monday before Lambert:

ä Marsha E. Ward, 41, of Sidney, pleaded guilty to and was sentenced for third-degree grand larceny.

According to court records, the incident occurred between May 12, 2006, and Oct. 27, 2008, in the city of Oneonta.

Ward was sentenced to five years' probation and four months of weekends in jail. She was ordered to pay $60,000 restitution and $375 in court fees.

In Otsego County Court on Friday before Judge Brian Burns, Patricia L. Murphy, 44, of Oneonta, pleaded innocent at arraignment to three counts of driving while intoxicated.

According to court records, the incidents occurred May 30 and Aug. 4 in the city of Oneonta.

Murphy was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court Wednesday.

Also in court Friday before Burns, four indictments were handed up, charging:

ä Calvin V. Carroll, with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

According to court records, the incident occurred July 24 in the city of Oneonta, and the substances were heroin and cocaine.

Carroll is due to be arraigned Monday.

ä Barry R. Waid, 51, with two counts of DWI.

According to court records, the incident occurred July 19 in the town of Cherry Valley.

Waid is due to be arraigned today.

ä Michael R. Walters, 22, with two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

According to court records, the incidents occurred in Maryland and Westford on June 22.

Walters is due to be arraigned Monday.

ä Charles W. Zimmerman IV, 24, with two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree criminal mischief.

According to court records, the incidents occurred in Maryland and Westford on June 22.

Zimmerman is due to be arraigned today.
