A Maryland man was arrested Oct. 18 for possession of a safe stolen from a Milford residence during a burglary the previous day, Otsego deputies said.
Kyle L. French, 23, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, deputies said.
He was arrested for having the safe that contained more than $8,100 in cash and more than $1,000 in jewelry and dumping it, with its contents, on Peterson Road in the town of Maryland on Oct. 18, deputies said. The safe and its contents were recovered the same day.
French was arraigned in Milford Town Court and released on his own recognizance to appear at a later date. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. deputies said.
