Unit 8100 of the CSEA, which represents Otsego County workers, has overwhelmingly approved a proposed five-year contract with the county.
On Tuesday evening, John Imperato, the Unit's president, said that 377 union workers voted for the contract, which would grant raises of about 3 percent a year, and 18 voted no.
``We had a very good turnout with 395 voting out of 510 who were eligible,'' he said.
The next step will be for the Otsego County Board of Representatives to ratify the contract Nov. 4, he said.
