An 89-year-old man died from his injuries after his car crashed into a mobile home in Otego on Wednesday afternoon, the Otsego County coroner said Thursday afternoon.
Seymour Bourn of Lot 9 at the Mill Creek Estates mobile-home park was driving south on a circular drive that services the park when for unknown reasons he drove off the roadway for about 75 feet and struck a mobile home at Lot 24, according to a media release from state police at Oneonta.
The crash occurred at about 3:40 p.m. Bourn was pronounced dead at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital a short time later, according to the release. No further information was available Thursday afternoon as the investigation was ongoing, troopers said.
An autopsy performed at Fox determined that Bourn died from internal injuries from the crash, Otsego County Coroner James Hurley said.
The mobile home suffered structural damage but is stable, troopers said.
No injuries were reported to the occupants of the mobile home.
