Otego man dead after car crash

An 89-year-old man died after his car crashed into a mobile home in Otego on Wednesday afternoon.

Seymour Bourn of Lot 9 at the Mill Creek Estates mobile home park was driving south on a circular drive that services the park when for unknown reasons he drove off the roadway for about 75 feet and struck a mobile home at Lot 24, according to a media release from state police at Oneonta.

The crash occurred at about 3:40 p.m. and Bourn was pronounced dead at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital a short time later, according to the release from troopers, which was sent to The Daily Star at about 7:45 a.m. today.

The mobile home suffered structural damage but is stable, troopers said.

No injuries were reported from among the occupants of the mobile home.

The investigation is continuing, troopers said.

No cause of death has been released for Bourn.
