BOVINA _ The second installment of the saga of life in 19th-century Bovina will premiere at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bovina Town Hall on Main Street. An additional performance is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

"Brushland Melodrama Part Two" recounts the tale of Bovina and its virtuous and not-so-virtuous inhabitants.

The show features a few new characters. Susan Call will make her stage debut as Enid Tremble, spinster owner of Tremble Mountain Farm. Luke Dougherty will play her nephew Trent Tremble, a virtuous Bovina farmer and one of the legendary Tremble brothers. Julian Richards will portray the villainous Sneaky Jeepers. Gary Mayer will act as Hosea "Hoss" McBurns, a widower and Bovina farmer, and Monica Liddle will play his daughter Petunia McBurns, a virtuous Bovina maiden.

Returning characters include John Bernhardt as the Rev. Doright Huggable, pastor of the Bovina United Presbyterian Church, Taylor Foster-Allen as Lucy LaMoor and Tim Bray as the mysterious stranger who brings change to the lives of all involved.

Jan Bray will accompany the production on piano. Bovina librarian Marjorie Miller will direct the play, which presenters said is suitable for all ages.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 12 and younger and can be purchased at the Bovina Public Library, the Bovina Post Office, Russell&aposs; Store, from the Friends and Trustees of the Library and at the door.

There will be a silent auction between shows featuring donations from Rachel&aposs; Frame Shop of Delhi, Heaven on Main Street of Bovina, Mountain Brook Inn, LaFever Excavating, Main Street Cards of Delhi and Stewart&aposs; Department Store, among others.

All proceeds will benefit the Bovina Public Library. For more information, call the library at 832-4884.
