{"headline18"/}Head-on crash injures two

The Otsego County Sheriff's Department is investigating a two-car motor vehicle accident that took place Friday afternoon on county Highway 13 in the town of Pittsfield. According to a media release from the sheriff's department, cars driven by Carl Carpenter, 66, of New Berlin, and Chase Davine, 19, of Brackney, Pa., collided head-on.

Both drivers were transported to the emergency room of Bassett Healthcare for injuries. No information was available Friday night on the drivers' conditions.

Officials said no passengers were traveling in either car. The investigation is ongoing.

    The arrest of a major drug kingpin in Otsego County was announced today by Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. and District Attorney John M. Muehl. Following a year-long investigation by a number of law enforcement agencies, Dante Darren Major, 35, of Hobart, was arrested for a number of drug felonies, Otsego deputies said.
