ONEONTA _ A Burlington Flats man was arrested on drunken driving charges after he allegedly drove off in a taxi cab.

Oneonta city police charged Albert W. Hulick IV with driving while intoxicated and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, at 12:08 a.m. Saturday.

Police said they received a call from a driver for M&M Taxi who reported a man drove away in his cab as the driver was checking for passengers on Cliff Street.

The driver chased the vehicle on foot and found it in the Spring Street area, police said. As the driver was returning to Cliff Street, he saw Hulick and confronted him.

Police arrested Hulick, who was released on $500 bail.
