The state Department of Transportation recently announced several projects that will affect local drivers.
Pavement repair will be performed on Interstate 88 eastbound and westbound from Exit 18 (Schenevus) to the Schoharie County line.
The work was scheduled to begin Tuesday in the town of Worcester.
Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures in the eastbound-westbound directions within the work zone. This work is expected to be completed by 2:30 p.m. Oct. 2, weather permitting.
On Thursday, motorists will encounter right-shoulder closures in the northbound and southbound directions of state Route 991W over the Delaware and Hudson Railroad in the town of Maryland.
This is because of a bridge inspection being performed in the area. Work is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and be completed by 4 p.m., weather permitting.
Reconstruction work on West End Avenue in Oneonta will also begin Thursday, weather permitting, by Cobleskill Stone Products.
Portions of the street will be closed for construction, on-street parking will be restricted and access to driveways may be limited while work is ongoing.
Access to Greater Plains Elementary School will be maintained, with detours on Morgan Avenue and Butler Street.
