Two people were arrested Thursday following an investigation of damage to the lawn of Edmeston Central School in Otsego County, deputies said.
Michael W. Wildey, 16, of Burlington Flats, and James C. Laird, 20, of Edmeston, were arrested for second-degree criminal mischief, a felony.
The defendants drove a stolen vehicle on the school lawn, causing more than $1,500 in damage, deputies said.
The two were sent to Otsego County jail on $2,000 cash bail. By Friday night, Wildey was released to return at a later date, and Laird was still there, deputies said.
