Staff Report

Thai and Vietnamese chef, restaurateur and cookbook author Mai Pham is visiting the State University College at Oneonta this week for a celebration of Thai and Vietnamese culture and cuisine.

Today, Pham will meet with students majoring in food and business and dietetics. Her presentation will focus on the Thai and Vietnamese cultures and cuisine.

At 2 p.m., she will be at the grand opening of My Kitchen, the college’s new dining venue. Located in Mills Hall, My Kitchen offers hands-on cooking stations for students to prepare their meals with several ingredients and recipes provided, as well as a state-of-the-art exhibition kitchen for demonstration cooking, cooking lessons, group events and cooking contests.

On Wednesday, Mai Pham will prepare lunch for students at Magellan’s, in Mills Hall, and dinner at the Wild Mushroom, in Wilsbach Hall. Signed cookbooks will be raffled.
