Thai and Vietnamese chef, restaurateur and cookbook
author Mai Pham is visiting the State University College at
Oneonta this week for a celebration of Thai and Vietnamese
culture and cuisine.
Today, Pham will meet with students majoring in food
and business and dietetics. Her presentation will focus on
the Thai and Vietnamese cultures and cuisine.
At 2 p.m., she will be at the grand opening
of My Kitchen, the college’s new dining
venue. Located in Mills Hall, My Kitchen offers
hands-on cooking stations for students
to prepare their meals with several ingredients
and recipes provided, as well as a
state-of-the-art exhibition kitchen for demonstration
cooking, cooking lessons, group
events and cooking contests.
On Wednesday, Mai Pham will prepare lunch for students
at Magellan’s, in Mills Hall, and dinner at the Wild
Mushroom, in Wilsbach Hall. Signed cookbooks will be
raffled.
Mai Pham’s appearance at SUNY Oneonta is courtesy
of Sodexo Campus Dining Services. She is the first in a series
of visiting Global Chefs celebrating cuisine diversity
