The Olive Branch at the Jericho in Bainbridge has been remodeled and is serving meals.
Jeris Pesout said he and his brother, Trey, had been working in the restaurant business in Walton for several years. After buying the Bainbridge property, they started renovations Sept. 19 and opened the renovated property three months later. Jeris Pesout said the new decor is old-world colonial, a change from the previous ``broken'' conditions.
``Anybody who's been in here before can't believe it's the same place,'' he said. ``It's completely different.''
Jeris Pesout said the restaurant name honors the occasion of two ancestors in Italy who met in an olive garden, married and raised a family.
The menu ranges from daily lunch specials at about $6 to fine dining. The building also has four apartments, he said, and the brothers live in two units.
The Olive Branch is located at 4 N. Main St. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and until 8 p.m. Sunday.
The restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday.

Cookie-maker to network in Las Vegas
The Cooperstown Cookie Co. has been selected as a "Rising Star Retailer" by the Sports Licensing & Tailgate Show.
The award honors sports-related businesses, one from each state, for their ability to "rise to the challenges of a complex and dynamic marketplace."
The Rising Star Awards will be presented during the Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas today through Friday. As part of the award, Cooperstown Cookie Company founder and president Pati Drumm Grady will receive an all-expense paid trip to the show.
"This is an incredible opportunity for the Cooperstown Cookie Company to network with sports retailers nationwide," Grady said in a media release. "We're very grateful to Sports Licensing & Tailgate Show and all our customers and wholesalers who voted for the Cooperstown Cookie Company."
Grady said the Cooperstown Cookie Co. is the only gourmet cookie licensed by Major League Baseball.
The baseball cookie company is also licensed by the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Grady launched the company in October 2004 at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
