Oneonta nursing home restricts visits
The nursing home at the A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta has restricted visitation because of an increase in influenza in the community and flu-like symptoms among residents.
Limited visits are allowed in cases where they are for a resident’s well-being, but visitors who exhibit respiratory symptoms are barred from visiting residents.
Other medical facilities in the region, including Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton and Cobleskill Regional Hospital, did not report an uptick in flu cases or flu-like symptoms Wednesday.
Delaware Valley spokeswoman Kathy Giunta-Lenci said the hospital had confirmed just two cases of flu.
Joanne Gleber of the Cobleskill hospital said that three cases had been confirmed there, and that its emergency room was reporting an average incidence of flu-like symptoms for this time of year.
