OTEGO _ Crews will be working on bridge maintenance on Interstate 88 eastbound between exit 12 in Otego and exit 13 in Oneonta beginning at 8 a.m. today, a media release said.

Construction will be on I-88 over Chamberlain Hill Road in the town of Otego, Otsego County, the state Department of Transportation said.

Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures in the eastbound direction on I-88, officials said, and flag personnel will be on site to guide traffic. Work is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting. However, there is a possibility work may need to go beyond that day.

The arrest of a major drug kingpin in Otsego County was announced today by Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. and District Attorney John M. Muehl. Following a year-long investigation by a number of law enforcement agencies, Dante Darren Major, 35, of Hobart, was arrested for a number of drug felonies, Otsego deputies said.
