WORCESTER _ Crews will be repairing guardrails on Interstate 88 in the eastbound lanes between exit 19 for Worcester and exit 20 for Richmondville beginning at about 7:30 a.m. this morning, state officials said.

Motorists will encounter a driving-lane closure within the work zone in the town of Richmondville, according to a state Department of Transportation media release. Work is expected to be completed by 1 p.m. today, weather permitting.

ONEONTA _ Center Street Elementary School will present the premiere showing of "History of Center Street School: Our Neighborhood, Our Home" at 6:30 tonight.

Fourth-grade students made the hour-long movie this year with help from faculty to tell of days when Center Street students wrote with pens dipped in ink, had gym class in the basement and walked home for lunch, presenters said.

The project involved interviewing many former teachers and students who attended the school dating back to the 1930s, a media release said, and pupils used a video camera and computer program to make the movie.

Boy Scout volunteers from Michigan will visit the area Thursday as part of a nationwide celebration of 100 years of Scouting.

The Century of Values Tour bus and presentation can be seen at the Boy Scout Otschodela Council Service Center on state Route 23 outside Southside Oneonta from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. at Henderson Scout Reservation in Maryland on Thursday, according to a media release.

Dan Ho and a team of volunteers from Michigan will stop locally as part of their 45,000-mile tour across the country to kick off the Boy Scouts of America's 100 Years of Scouting, the release said. The tour project depicts famous individuals, places and events in Scouting history and is the work of Eagle Scout and professional animator Bill Morrison.

Locally, Troop 1 Unadilla is being recognized as one of America's Centennial Troops, marking 100 years of service to the youth and community of Unadilla, organizers said.

"Scouting's purpose is to prepare young people for a lifetime of leadership,'' said Scout executive Tom Wright in a prepared statement. ``The values and lessons of Scouting are what our nation needs, and the Century of Values tour celebrates what the Boy Scouts of America has given to the youth and our nation for the past 100 years."

For more information, call Wright of the Otschodela Council at 432-6491.
