COOPERSTOWN _ In Otsego County Court May 15 before Judge Brian Burns:

Derek J. Wright, 19, of Oneonta, pleaded innocent at arraignment to a charge of second-degree assault.

According to court records, the incident occurred Dec. 4 in the town of Middlefield.

Wright was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail, and is due back in court July 10.

Also in court May 15 before Judge Burns:

Zumar D. Ortiz, 23, of the Bronx, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, cocaine.

According to court records, the incident occurred Oct. 6 in the town of Oneonta.

Ortiz is being held at the Otsego County jail in lieu of $75,000 bail, and is scheduled to be sentenced in July.

Richard Vanleuven, 17, of Fly Creek, was sentenced for third-degree burglary.

According to court records, the incident occurred Dec. 5 in Richfield, and Vanleuven pleaded guilty April 24.

Vanleuven was sentenced to five years' probation and six months in jail. He was ordered to pay $930 in restitution and $375 in court fees.

David W. Lowe, 35, of Unadilla, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 22, 2008, in Unadilla.

Lowe, who is free on $1,500 bail, is scheduled to be sentenced June 12.

Tracy M. Doolittle, 56, of Oneonta, pleaded innocent at arraignment to a charge of driving while intoxicated.

According to court records, the incident occurred Sept. 23 in Oneonta.

Doolittle is free on $750 bail while awaiting further court proceedings.

In state Supreme Court of Otsego County May 14 before Justice Michael Coccoma:

ä Kenneth A. Hailston, 34, of Richfield Springs, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 12, 2008, in Richfield Springs.

Hailston was sentenced to five years' probation, and his driver's license was revoked. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, plus $295 in court fees.

On May 21 before Justice Coccoma:

ä An indictment was handed up charging Michael J. Hunt, 33, of New Berlin, with third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree grand larceny.

According to court records, the third-degree grand larceny occurred April 1, 2008, in the town of Oneonta, and the third-degree grand larceny occurred Feb. 1, 2007, in Morris.
