MASONVILLE _ A 53-year-old Masonville man was arrested Tuesday after an investigation into a report of a drive-by shooting at 11616 State Route 8, state police said.
Russell L. Heesh, of Steam Mill Road, was arrested on two counts of criminal endangerment, a class D felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon; and aggravated harassment; both class A misdemeanors. The case was handled by the state police at Sidney Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and nobody was available there for comment Tuesday night.
At about 4 a.m., occupants of the residence called 911 to report that an unknown vehicle entered their driveway and fired multiple rounds from a firearm into the house, troopers said. The occupants reported that gunshots entered through a bedroom wall where two adults were sleeping. There were also two other adults and a child in the house at the time, troopers said, and no one was injured.
Several long guns and ammunition were recovered when a search warrant was executed at Heesh's residence, troopers said.
Walter Stedtler, 50, was interviewed at the state Route 8 residence earlier in the day. He said he contacted troopers. He was with his fiance and her family when the incident occurred, he said.
He said he could not comment because it was an ongoing investigation, but added that "it's very scary."
Heesh was arraigned in Masonville Town Court and sent to Delaware County jail on $15,000 cash or $30,000 property bond.
