Drive-by shooting, armed robbery reported

MASONVILLE _ State police responded to a reported drive-by shooting at an occupied residence at 11616 State Route 8 in Masonville at about 4 a.m. this morning.

A resident of the home called 911 and said an unknown vehicle entered the driveway and someone fired multiple rounds from a firearm into the residence.

State police said the gunshots entered through a bedroom wall of the residence, where two adults were sleeping. The residence also was occupied by several children at the time of the shooting. No injuries were reported.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information should call state police at Sidney at 561-7400.



ROXBURY _ There was a reported armed robbery at the Country Store in Roxbury late Monday, state police said.

State police, the Roxbury constables and NYC Department of Environmental Protection police responded to report on state Route 30 just after 11 p.m.

According to state police, at about 10:58 p.m., an unknown male subject entered the store displaying a handgun. The subject demanded money from the store clerk, fled the store and ran south. There were no injuries, and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the robbery.
