COOPERSTOWN _ A Springfield Center man was arrested Wednesday for filing false documentation with the Otsego County Court, Otsego deputies said.
Thomas A. Niznik, 34, was charged with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, a felony, and second-degree falsifying business records, a misdemeanor, deputies said.
He is on felony probation and filed paperwork with false information, causing a false entry in court records, deputies said.
Further information could not be provided because of privacy regulations, a court official said.
Niznik, who was being held without bail on a violation of probation charge in Otsego County jail, faces up to four years on the recent charges, deputies said.
