A jury in the state of Maryland found a Gaithersburg, Md., man guilty of one charge but acquitted him on two for his role in the death of a 2000 Oneonta High School graduate, according to Gazette.net, a community newspaper website.
Aaron Shepherd, 20, was found guilty on Thursday of conspiracy to commit armed robbery in the April 13 robbery and slaying of Lindsay Marie Harvey outside her Gaithersburg apartment.
He is the first of three suspects to be tried in Harvey's death.
Shepherd, who was tried in Montgomery County, is scheduled to be sentenced in March, according to the site.
He was cleared of charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, according to Gazette.net.
Also facing the same charges are Anthony Moore, 16, also of Gaithersburg, who was charged in June, and Shepherd's cousin, Shawn M. Henderson, 26, of Landover, who was charged April 15, with shooting Harvey in the head near a trash bin outsider her home at Grove Park Apartments.
Harvey was the daughter of Craig and Debra Lynd Harvey of Oneonta. She worked as a DNA analyst for the Armed Forces DNA Laboratory of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner's System after graduating from Binghamton University.
Henderson's trial is scheduled to begin in February and Moore is scheduled to face a jury in March, according to Gazette.net.
