Unatego interim offered job

By Mark Boshnack

A three-year contract for the Unatego Central School interim Superintendent Charles Molloy is expected to be approved during the next board of education meeting, board President Deborah Davis said Friday.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at Otego Elementary School. The salary will be $130,000, Davis said.

Molloy, 64, who lives in Morrisville, was appointed in August 2007 to fill the vacancy created when former superintendent Rebecca Furlong left to take a similar job in another district. He had retired in 2001 as superintendent of Frankfort-Schuyler Central School.

"We are very pleased with the job he's done," Davis said. "He brings a wealth of knowledge to this district."

Molloy said, "I'm tickled to be here."

In terms of staff and administration, the district is one of the best he has worked in, he said.

During the time he has been at Unatego, "we've done a lot of team building," to address previous issues, he said.

"I try to listen to all points of view."
