WEST ONEONTA _ The Oneonta Town Board is holding three public hearings tonight at the town hall in West Oneonta, including one dealing with a fire-damaged house on East Street.
The public hearings will be held during the regular town board meeting that starts at 7:30 p.m.
The first hearing will deal with a change to the town's mobile home park ordinance, according to Town Supervisor Robert Wood.
The ordinance change, if adopted, will require mobile home park owners to have an emergency official sign off on the owner's emergency preparedness plan for his or her mobile home park.
The second hearing will be on a proposed ordinance requiring developers to be responsible for private roads in housing developments before officially turning the roads over to the town.
The third hearing regards a property at 350 East St. The owner of the property, Dennis Kropp, earlier this year was told by the town to fix deficiencies with the property.
"He said he would take care of it, but he hasn't," Wood said.
The deficiencies include not having the home secure from trespassers, Wood said.
He added that there has been some activity on the property that suggests Kropp is preparing to tear it down.
But if it is not dealt with, Wood said, the town can tear it down and bill Kropp for the expense.
