City seeks vendors for balloon fest

ONEONTA _ The city is seeking vendors for its "Taste of Oneonta" event to be held during the Labor Day weekend balloon festival and evening glow.

The balloon festival is being held Aug. 29, 30 and 31 as part of the series of events commemorating the city of Oneonta's centennial.

Taste of Oneonta will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Aug. 30 in Neahwa Park and is designed to showcase the community's fine food and excellent restaurants, according to organizers.

There is no fee for vendors to participate, but pre-registration is required, along with a description of menu items to be provided.

All participating restaurants will be required to submit a certificate of liability insurance naming the city of Oneonta as additionally insured and fulfill any applicable and appropriate state Department of Health requirements, according to city officials.

The balloon festival will include live music and balloon flights, as well as an evening glow Saturday night.
