DELHI _ A Fleischmanns woman who was in jail on a burglary charge was arrested June 11 for first-degree promoting prison contraband.
Cheryl A. Scarth, 50, is accused of possessing a dangerous substance on June 5 in the Delaware County jail, deputies said in a media release.
Scarth is also charged with tampering with physical evidence for allegedly trying to destroy the substance to prevent its use as evidence, deputies said.
Additional charges, as well as the identity of the substance, are pending completion of laboratory analysis of evidence obtained in the case, deputies said.
Scarth was arraigned in the Delhi Town Court and was released on her own recognizance. She was then returned to jail, where she is being held on the burglary charge.
