A family of three was left homeless after a Tuesday afternoon fire in Harpersfield.
A one-story home on Moxham Road was gutted by the blaze, but no injuries were reported.
Between 60 to 70 volunteer firefighters from Stamford, Davenport, Jefferson and Hobart fire departments responded to combat the blaze.
But not much could be done, Stamford Fire Chief Cliff Mueller said.
"It was totally involved by the time we got there," Mueller said. "We saved the framing and that's about it."
The family that owned and lived in the home is staying with relatives, Mueller said.
The Red Cross is also assisting them, he said.
The cause remains under investigation.
"The owner's name we're not sure of yet," Mueller said.
