COBLESKILL _ A 50-year-old man was arrested Wednesday and charged with several misdemeanors and felonies for alleged crimes related to identity theft.
Lawrence Roach Sr., of Cobleskill, is accused of using another person's identity to obtain electrical service through National Grid, falsifying records in the course of conducting business with National Grid and using another person's personal information to open up a checking account to write checks, Cobleskill police said.
He was charged with 25 counts of second-degree forgery, second-degree identity theft, third-degree identity theft and first-degree falsifying business records.
Roach was arraigned in Village Justice Court and released on his own recognizance to await further court action.
