LAS VEGAS _ Elisabeth Baldanza, Miss New York 2007, will appear with 51 other women on Miss America Live! on cable television at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The Learning Channel will telecast the Miss America pageant. In the Oneonta area, TLC is channel 58.

Baldanza, 24, of East Meredith, participated in preliminary competitions this week at the theater of Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The judges assessed contestants in three categories _ lifestyle in the evening gown and swimsuit category; talent; and answering a question on stage.

On Saturday night, 15 women will be named finalists by the panel, and supporters across America will have chosen a 16th finalist by voting through TLC's 'Miss America: Reality Check'' website. Voting closed at midnight Friday.

The finalists will compete further on the show.

Starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, TLC will air repeats of episodes from the reality show.
