Bills reauthorizing sales-tax collections in Delaware and Schoharie counties have been approved by the state Senate, according to the offices of state Sens. James Seward, R-Milford, and John Bonacic, R-Mount Hope.
The bills go to Gov. David Paterson to be signed into law.
They had been held up by the impasse in the Senate, where Republicans and Democrats each claimed to control the chamber during the last month.
A bill that would allow Oneonta Fire Chief Robert Barnes to consolidate his retirement pensions from the county and the city has not been acted on, according to Jeff Bishop, Seward's spokesman.
Bishop said that bill may come to a vote this week.
He also noted that bills authorizing occupancy and mortgage recording taxes in Schoharie County were approved late last week.
