---- — Visit Trip Advisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com), which offers reviews of hotels and attractions by fellow travelers.
Purchase the Dublin Pass (http://www.dublinpass.ie), which will more than pay for itself if you visit many of the popular attractions. This allows you admission to many tourist sites (though some are already free, so make sure you will be utilizing this for the pay attractions).
Use the Hop On, Hop Off buses. If you plan on spending two or three days visiting the main attractions, this ticket will also pay for itself. These buses take you all over the city with a narrated tour and allow you to come and go as you please at the spots that interest you. One tip — get one with the live narrators, it's much more fun.
Though some of the bigger-named restaurants and pubs are attractive and good, don't be afraid to pop into one of the local spots and soak in the ambiance. It gives you a better feel of what Dublin is all about.
If you have a hobby that is done worldwide, try to reach out to locals. They can show you some of the hidden gems in the city and in surrounding areas.
