Thanks for the Manor
This will be another letter in support of what I refer to as the best thing that ever happened to Otsego County.
The people who planned and worked so hard to get Otsego Manor built did the county a wonderful service.
Just recently, I stayed there after my knee surgery and the staff was wonderful. Prior to that, I had the privilege of working as a volunteer for the Hospice, which made it possible to go in many of the sections of the Manor to see and work with the patients. The care was exceptional in all the sections.
I know the Board of Representatives has a tough job on its hands these days what with all the cutbacks on reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid, but I'm counting on them to find a way to keep it as a county home. Who knows? Someday I might be calling it my home, and I pray if that day ever comes, the Manor will be there for me and that it will not have changed.

Vote no to the ambulance district
The ambulance service we have now in the town of Columbus is more then adequate.
The Village of New Berlin's EMS Unit has served us well, and will continue to do so.
The ambulance district proposal is complicated and expensive.
Based on the fact that the tax burden to support the newly formed Unadilla Valley Ambulance Corp. would truly be excessive, there appears to be some shenanigans regarding the foundation of said UVAC and its legality.
We urge everyone to vote no today on this unnecessary ambulance district proposal.
We would also like to suggest to those that can, please enhance our current volunteer system as well as support our fire and emergency services.
If it's not broken, don't try and fix it.
