Pro-drillers aren't evil

Recently, a strange thing has been occurring in both The Daily Star letters and other printed material. Individuals who own their property, and would be open to the possibility of safe exploration for natural gas deposits, are portrayed as greedy.

Individuals who do not own that property but want to use political force to control it, present themselves as concerned citizens. They are trying to give the impression that those who disagree with them are evil.

Who is greedy here? Congratulations to courageous Jennifer Huntington!

Barack Obama does care about America

It's so nice to hear from the Tea Party. You can call me personal names, but I have big shoulders; it just rubs off.

I'll debate you any time in person, man-to-man. You have a right to your opinion and so do I, but personal attacks hiding behind the newspaper is wrong.

Gas is lower this year than last year at this time and is dropping fast. Billionaire oil man T. Boone Pickens said compared to the rest of the world gas ($10 to $20 a gallon) it's a lot better in the U.S. gas at $3 a gallon wholesale. So when Republicans said they will give you $2.50 a gallon, it's a fairy tale.

On unemployment, the rest of the world is in double digits and a lot, including Britain, are in a second recession. Barack Obama helped us out of a first recession.

Housing starts in April are up 2.5 percent. Industrial output is up 2.1 percent, the highest in four years.

The Dow stocks were at 7,000 when Obama took over, and now they are over 12,500.

Unemployment will never be below 5 percent again. "Curly" Romney said he will get it to 4 percent. "Dream on."

By the way, when is Mitt Romney going to release all his tax records? After the elections? Maybe because of the Cayman Islands?

The Tea Party people said Obama does not care for America or the American people. He got bin Laden and 20 top al-Qaida leaders. Just the last two weeks, five more al-Qaida were taken out. He cares.
