Obama trashing our Constitution

One of the purposes of our Constitution is to provide for the common defense.

Where was our commander in chief three days after we were hit with a terrorist attack? Golfing in Hawaii, bloviating that the diaper bomber on Christmas Day was an "isolated extremist." Obama acts as if this attack is an annoyance that interferes with passing his sacred, bankrupting, health care bill.

He continues to infuriate Americans by insisting terrorist thugs have the same rights as American citizens to be tried in a civilian court! Yet he blatantly violates our constitutional rights by ramming mandatory, unconstitutional, government programs down our throats, in the dead of night behind doors locked to the public, and especially to C-SPAN! Where the hell is all that "transparency" he touted a hundred times?

In fulfilling his campaign promise to "fundamentally transform America," Obama is steamrolling his coup, starting with the takeover of one-sixth of our economy by imposing mandatory government health care, against the will of the people.

In their oaths of office, officials swear to protect and defend the Constitution, yet with our own Sens. Gillibrand and Schumer in his cadre of cohorts, Obama is implementing Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and Cloward and Piven's strategy of manufactured crises to accomplish his socialist agenda.

He obviously finds our Constitution a roadblock to his goals, and is manipulating ways to circumvent it, along with a little help from bribed, coerced Democrats.

By trashing our Constitution, our heritage and our core beliefs, this administration is alienating Americans, endangering our economy, our safety, our freedom, the future of our children, and the sovereignty of our nation.

This agenda must be defeated. God save our republic!

Photography award richly deserved

Julie Lewis' recent award from the New York State Agricultural Society for outstanding photography validates the frequent "silent" awards my husband and I give her from our table, spread with breakfast and The Daily Star.

Her photographs of our rural nature and people capture beauty, honesty, peace, serenity and joy.

We humans need these to balance out the rougher and sometimes jarring news elsewhere.

Julie's photographic contributions are life-enhancing.
