Patriotism, honor missing from society
Whatever happened to patriotism and honor?
Recently I attended a parade in Schenevus, which was attended by many folks.
I gladly served my country in uniform for 12 years. I was also brought up to respect and honor the flag.
I have observed this before, but that day really disturbed me.
Admittedly, there were lots of flags. The sad part is that there were not many who honored them as they passed by.
It really hurts to think that there is no respect for the flag, the country and all those who served and gave all for our flag and what it stands for.
Again, I ask, where is our patriotism, honor and respect?

Assault weapons aren't necessary
Regarding the recent shooting deaths in Aurora, it is my understanding that the man responsible purchased all his weapons legally.
Other than for military and law enforcement, it is a puzzlement to me why anyone would need to own an AR-15 assault rifle that can fire up to 800 rounds per minute.
Also _ body armor?
Where is the rationale for allowing this? The right to bear arms is a far cry from owning an AR-15.
