COOPERSTOWN _ The "Wives' Weekend," the third such event sponsored by the Bell System Data Communications Training School will be held today through Sunday, it was announced Thursday by the school officials.

Most of the wives of students in the current 12-week classes will arrive in Cooperstown this afternoon. They will be guests of the American Telephone and Telegraph Co., for the weekend.

The wives will come from all over the United States and Canada. Most will fly from their homes into New Yew York City and those landing at Idlewild will be guests of AT&T at a reception today at the Eastern Mohawk Lounge before boarding a chartered plane to Utica.

All wives will meet in Utica and from there, by chartered buses, the group will proceed to Cooperstown. A social hour is scheduled at the Treadway-Otesaga from 7 to 8 p.m., to be followed by a buffet supper in the main dining room. The classrooms and laboratories will be open after dinner.

Members of the school faculty and permanent staff will remain in Cooperstown for the summer months preparing the program for the second academic year.
