Oxford's holiday tree lighting ceremony will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at LaFayette Park.
Festivities will take place by the bandstand, and include music, roasted chestnuts, caroling, refreshments and more.
The Oxford Holiday Committee, a nonprofit organization, will design and decorate the park for the occasion.
Presenters said a 12-foot evergreen tree will be up and twinkling by the weekend.

Oxford Village Mayor Terry Stark will officiate the holiday show. After a couple of carols, he will announce the Oxford Academy Primary School award recipients of the sixth annual "Recycled Holiday Ornament Contest," sponsored by the OHC.
Place prizes will include gift certificates to Nice n Easy, Hoppie's and the Clachan Coffee House.
With the help of students from the Primary School, Nicholas and Paige Cirello, a light switch will be pulled to turn on the lights.
Members of Oxford Academy's Middle and High School Chorus will perform "O, Christmas Tree."
Other musical entertainment will include the Oxford Brass Quartet and DJ Jim Baldwin of the Oxford Lions Club.
Santa will be at the event, and will be available to listen to children's wish-lists, presenters said.
There will also be a preview of "The Last Doll Christmas Musical" by the Oxford Civic Theatre.
Refreshments will be provided by the Girl Scouts, the Boy Scouts, the Oxford Grange and the Eastern Star.
